India’s tyre exports soared 16% to Rs 7,700 crore in Q1FY27, driven by strong demand in Europe & US. ATMA reports robust growth despite global challenges.

India’s tyre exports surged by 16 percent year-on-year, reaching Rs 7,700 crore during the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. This significant growth, spanning April to June, occurred despite prevailing geopolitical uncertainties and rising input and logistics costs.

The Automotive Tyre Manufacturers’ Association (ATMA) reported these figures, citing data from the Ministry of Commerce. This robust Q1FY27 performance builds upon the industry’s record export value achieved in the previous fiscal year.

Passenger Car Radial (PCR) tyres recorded notable expansion, with exports in this segment rising 21 percent in value terms compared to the year-ago period.

ATMA indicated that improved market access through trade agreements, coupled with supportive export policies, could help sustain this growth trajectory. Such measures are crucial for strengthening India’s position as a global tyre manufacturing and export hub.

Key Export Markets Drive Volume

Europe emerged as a crucial growth market for Indian tyre exports, with shipments to the region increasing by 25 percent to Rs 3,003 crore during Q1FY27. The European market alone accounted for nearly 40 percent of India’s total tyre exports for the quarter.
