India’s auto industry achieved record July sales in 2026, with passenger vehicles up 34.3% and two-wheelers up 22.6%, signaling strong market momentum and consumer demand.
The Indian auto industry registered its strongest July sales performance on record in 2026, propelled by significant double-digit growth across key segments. Domestic passenger vehicle dispatches, in particular, notably surged by 34.3% year-on-year, according to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
July 2026 Dispatch Highlights
- Passenger Vehicle Dispatches: 4,57,810 units, up 34.3% from 3,40,772 units in July 2025.
- Two-Wheeler Sales: 19,23,483 units, an increase of 22.6% from 15,69,120 units in July 2025.
- Three-Wheeler Dispatches: 92,560 units, marking a 33.4% rise from 69,403 units in July 2025.
These robust figures, officially released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), underscore a sustained positive trajectory for the sector in India. The substantial increases across all vehicle categories reflect strong consumer demand and dealer optimism nationwide, building on previous months’ performances.
Sustained Momentum and Festive Outlook
Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, highlighted the consistent positive momentum observed over several months. He conveyed optimism regarding the upcoming festive season, anticipating that strong consumer sentiment will further boost sales for passenger vehicles, three-wheelers, and two-wheelers.
