Hero MotoCorp Boosts Ather Energy Stake to 32.8%

Hero MotoCorp greenlit an additional Rs 1,758 crore investment in electric two-wheeler maker Ather Energy. This move will push Hero MotoCorp’s stake to 32.8% on a fully diluted basis. The deal is set to finalize by September 3, 2026.
This latest capital injection builds on previous commitments. Hero MotoCorp, one of India’s largest two-wheeler manufacturers by volume, has been steadily increasing its position.
Ather Energy Stake Details
- Current stake (before this new investment): 29.88% as of August 25.
- Previous investment in July: Rs 1,000 crore via equity shares or convertible securities.
- That July investment concluded within 15 days, raising Hero MotoCorp’s stake from 29.48%.
Ather Energy specializes in the design and manufacturing of electric two-wheelers, also operating storage distribution systems. The company has demonstrated significant financial growth.

Stock Performance Update
On Thursday, Hero MotoCorp shares closed flat at Rs 5,550 on the NSE. The company recorded a 7% return over the past month, remaining flat over the last six months.
Ather Energy’s stock also ended flat at Rs 1,495.30 on the NSE for the day. However, its recent market performance shows stronger upward trends:
