Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, a subsidiary of Coromandel International, has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. This strategic expansion significantly strengthens India’s indigenous drone manufacturing capabilities across vital sectors.

Expanding Strategic Capabilities

The facility is designed to support the development and execution of complex Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) programs. It enables greater indigenisation of critical technologies, addressing evolving customer requirements in a rapidly advancing market.

  • Supports Dhaksha Unmanned Systems’ growing defence portfolio, including surveillance and logistics applications.
  • Features a dedicated production line to enhance execution capabilities for defence applications.
  • Strengthens the company’s efforts towards building greater control over critical technologies.
  • Expands sourcing and service ecosystems, including a network of service centres, to support growing operations.
  • Acts as a platform for collaboration across the drone value chain, fostering an integrated drone manufacturing ecosystem.

Introducing New Agricultural Drones

Coinciding with the inauguration, Dhaksha Unmanned Systems launched two new agricultural drone models. These introductions aim to broaden access to advanced farming technologies for different segments of the agricultural community.

  • The DH Agrigator E10 Prime is developed with indigenous components, aligning with the “Namo Drone Didi” programme. It supports India’s expanding domestic drone ecosystem.
  • The DH Agrigator E10 Eco offers an affordable solution, specifically designed to provide drone-based farming services to small and marginal farmers, as well as rural entrepreneurs.

Coromandel International, as a leading Agri-solutions provider, positions Dhaksha Unmanned Systems to leverage its extensive experience across fertilizers, specialty nutrients, crop protection, and retail. This synergy underscores a broader corporate strategy to integrate technology solutions into agricultural practices.

This new facility and product launch mark a significant step for Dhaksha Unmanned Systems, enhancing India’s self-reliance in drone technology while simultaneously addressing critical needs in both national defence and the agricultural sector.
