Helium Smart Air secures $2M seed funding led by India Quotient to advance smart AC technology, expand distribution, and boost R&D. Affordable AC solutions.
Helium Smart Air, an Indian startup focused on developing smart air conditioners, has raised $2 million in seed funding led by India Quotient. The funds are earmarked for accelerating product development, expanding distribution networks, and investing in research and development efforts.
Founded in 2025 by IIT Kanpur alumni Ashish Sharma and Aman Munka, Helium aims to provide affordable and space-efficient AC solutions for both residential and commercial use. The company is partnering with IIT Kanpur to develop cooling technology designed to minimize energy consumption.
Helium’s AC units will feature gas leakage detection and device health analytics, intended to reduce unnecessary refills and repairs. The startup has partnered with Urban Company for installation and maintenance services.
The company’s initial product is designed for spaces up to 100 sq ft, featuring a 2,700-watt capacity and compatibility with a 1 kW solar panel. Priced at approximately ₹17,000, deliveries are scheduled to begin later this month. The ACs will be available in select showrooms in Delhi NCR and Rajasthan post-launch, with plans for further geographic expansion.
Helium’s entry into the market occurs amidst a growing trend of direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands focused on integrating IoT for smart capabilities, aesthetics, and optimized sizing to meet the demands of urban consumers. Atomberg, known for its energy-efficient smart ceiling fans, has expanded its product line to include water purifiers and kitchen appliances.
Atomberg has also moved into B2B manufacturing, partnering with AC manufacturers such as Godrej and Voltas to supply components, including an indigenously designed AC compressor.
