The net FII activity over the five sessions (August 17-21) shows a mixed trend with two days of buying and three days of selling, while DIIs have been net buyers across all five sessions, accumulating a total of ₹17,316.34 crore.

Among the Nifty 50 constituents, Power Grid Corporation Of India Ltd. (POWERGRID) led the gains, closing at ₹272.4 with a +2.87% increase. HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (HDFCLIFE) also performed strongly, rising +2.36% to ₹554.8. Other notable gainers included Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (+1.37%), Nestle India Ltd. (+1.31%), and Bharat Electronics Ltd. (+1.12%).
On the losing side, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (MARUTI) saw a decline of −1.77%, closing at ₹13565. Trent Ltd. (TRENT) also experienced a significant dip of −1.55% to ₹2924. HCL Technologies Ltd.
