(NESTLEIND) followed with a +2.88% increase, closing at ₹1496.5. Other significant gainers included Axis Bank Ltd. (AXISBANK) up +2.77%, Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. (MAXHEALTH) with a +2.76% rise, and Grasim Industries Ltd. (GRASIM) which gained +2.46%.
On the downside, Adani Enterprises Ltd. (ADANIENT) was the top loser, plummeting by −9.76% to ₹2859.1. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (ADANIPORTS) also saw significant selling pressure, declining by −6.70% to ₹1593.1. Other notable losers included ITC Ltd. (ITC) down −3.95%, Bharti Airtel Ltd. FII / DII Flows
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained net sellers for the third consecutive session on Monday, 31 August 2026, recording a significant net outflow of ₹7,985.88 crore. This follows earlier outflows of ₹5,039.8 crore on 28 August and ₹298.26 crore on 27 August. In contrast, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) continued their supportive role, registering net purchases of ₹4,588.88 crore on Monday. DIIs have been consistent net buyers over the last five sessions, providing crucial counter-balance to FII selling.
