The Nifty 50 opened Wednesday’s session virtually flat, registering 24335.35 points, a marginal increase of just 1 point from its previous close of 24334.55. Early trade indicates a cautious start, with the broader market showing limited directional conviction in the initial minutes.

Individual stocks are driving early movements. Adani Enterprises Ltd. (ADANIENT) leads the gainers, trading at ₹3110 with a +3.72% uptick. Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. (MAXHEALTH) is up +2.57% at ₹1016, followed by Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (APOLLOHOSP) at ₹8889, gaining +2.15%. Interglobe Aviation Ltd. (INDIGO) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) also started strong, up +2.01% and +1.99% respectively.
On the downside, HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd. (HDFCLIFE) is trading lower by −1.13% at ₹546.7. Cipla Ltd. (CIPLA) sees a decline of −1.11% to ₹1422, while Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC) is down −1.08% at ₹234. Hero MotoCorp Ltd. (HEROMOTOCO) and Coal India Ltd. (COALINDIA) are also among the early losers, down −1.06% and −0.71% respectively.
Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) and Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) maintained their buying momentum in the previous two sessions. On August 25, FIIs recorded net purchases of ₹1593.53 crore, while DIIs bought ₹230.26 crore. This follows August 24, where FIIs were net buyers of ₹1181.66 crore and DIIs added ₹2493.41 crore.
Investors will be watching for sustained directional cues as the session progresses, particularly how index heavyweights respond to the initial flat opening.
