Indian markets closed lower at 24,052, down 0.66%, driven by escalating West Asia tensions and FII outflows. DIIs provided support with significant buying.

Indian equity benchmarks ended over half a percent lower on Tuesday, impacted by a sharp surge in crude oil prices due to renewed flare-up in West Asia. Fresh foreign fund outflows and a weakening rupee also pressured the markets, leading to a gap-down start for today’s session. Wholesale inflation remains elevated at 9.87% in June, with retail inflation also jumping to 4.38%.
