By Market Desk
MCX achieved a record daily turnover of ₹62.93 lakh crore on August 28, 2026, fueled by strong options trading and enhanced market integrity initiatives.
Multi Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) recorded its highest-ever daily turnover of ₹62.93 lakh crore on August 28, 2026. This significant milestone indicates robust activity within the commodity derivatives market.
- Total Turnover: ₹62.93 lakh crore
- Options Contribution: ₹61,84,516.04 crore across more than 3.13 crore contracts
- Futures Contribution: ₹1,08,949.42 crore
The record turnover was predominantly driven by options activity. This achievement aligns with MCX’s ongoing initiatives to strengthen the connection between the physical commodity market and its derivatives trading platform.
Enhancing Market Integrity
Earlier in the year, MCX implemented Good Delivery Norms for primary aluminium, refined copper, and refined zinc. These standards are designed to ensure consistent quality and acceptability of deliverable metals.
- Involve auditing, assaying, and testing at producing plants.
- Aim to foster greater participation and hedging in underlying contracts.
