India is developing a new scheme to support domestic critical mineral processing plants, according to the Mines Secretary. This initiative aims to boost the nation’s capabilities in the critical mineral sector.
As part of the broader strategy, public sector companies will participate in bidding processes for four copper mines located in Chile. This move is intended to secure access to vital resources and enhance India’s global presence in the mineral market.
In addition to copper acquisitions, domestic copper production is slated to increase significantly. Plans are also underway to extract gold from mining residue, further maximizing resource utilization and contributing to the sector’s growth.
These efforts collectively seek to strengthen India’s mineral sector, ensuring a more robust and self-reliant domestic industry while expanding its influence on the international stage.
