In a separate development, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada highlighted significant growth in the issuance of certificates of origin. These crucial documents, which grant duty benefits under free trade agreements, more than doubled from 3.6 lakh in 2021-22 to over 7.8 lakh in 2026-27 so far.

This surge indicates increased utilization of India’s trade agreements and expanding market access for Indian exporters. Furthermore, India’s merchandise exports recorded robust growth during April-June 2026-27, rising by 16% to reach $129.32 billion.
