FII and DII Activity

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) remained net sellers in today’s session, offloading equities worth −₹510.69 crore. In contrast, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) provided support, emerging as net buyers with an inflow of +₹4353.09 crore. This follows a trend from the previous session (August 13), where FIIs were net sellers by −₹1002.5 crore and DIIs bought +₹5841.66 crore.

Key Stock Movements and News

Among the top gainers, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd. (APOLLOHOSP) surged +3.71% to ₹8919. This rise followed the company’s Q1FY27 results, which showed a 34% increase in consolidated net profit and a 20.57% rise in total consolidated income to ₹7,092.30 crore.

Bharti Airtel Ltd. (BHARTIARTL) also posted strong gains, closing up +2.73% at ₹1992. The telecom major’s subsidiary announced a collaboration with ITI to enhance digital transformation for enterprises. Additionally, Bharti Airtel’s arm inked pacts to acquire 85% stakes in Rochak and Rovision, aiming to expand its data centre business.

Despite reporting a consolidated net loss of −₹1,160.23 crore in Q1FY27, Adani Enterprises Ltd. (ADANIENT) saw its shares climb +2.53% to ₹3040. The company’s total consolidated income increased by 49.52% to ₹33,546.26 crore for the quarter. Furthermore, a step-down arm of Adani Enterprises incorporated AACL Global, a wholly owned subsidiary, to function as a Global Treasury Centre.

On the losing side, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. (TMPV) led the decline, falling −4.46% to ₹334. Other significant losers included JIO Financial Services Ltd. (JIOFIN), down −2.19%, and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (ONGC), which dropped −1.90%.
