Zen Technologies Wins ₹295 Cr Defence Order, Pipeline Hits ₹1239 Cr

Zen Technologies secures a ₹295 crore defence order, boosting its pipeline to over ₹1239 crore, despite a recent dip in Q1 profits. Learn more.
Hyderabad-based Zen Technologies Ltd has secured a substantial ₹295 crore order from the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, for the supply of simulators. This significant contract immediately elevates the company’s total order pipeline to ₹1,239.02 crore.
The domestic entity-awarded order is slated for execution within one year. Zen Technologies clarified that its promoter group holds no interest in the awarding entity, confirming the transaction is not a related-party deal.
Quarterly Financial Performance
For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, Zen Technologies reported a 27.8% year-on-year decline in net profit. This brought the net profit down to ₹34.4 crore from ₹48 crore in the prior year.
Revenue from operations also saw a decrease of 10.5%, dropping to ₹141.6 crore from ₹158.2 crore. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) fell by 40.2% year-on-year, landing at ₹38.7 crore from ₹64.7 crore.
The company’s EBITDA margin narrowed significantly to 27.3%, a notable reduction from 40.9% recorded in the same period last year.
Strategic and Board Level Changes
In a strategic move, the board approved a 24-month extension for the utilization of unutilized Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP) funds. The new deadline shifts from August 23, 2026, to August 22, 2028, without altering the original objectives for inorganic growth, acquisitions, and general corporate purposes.
The board also approved the appointment of Jasthi Krishna Kishore as an Additional Director and Non-Executive Independent Director for a three-year term, effective July 25, 2026, pending shareholder approval. Additionally, Shilpa Choudari’s reappointment as Whole-Time Director for another three-year term, beginning November 1, 2026, received board consent, also subject to shareholder approval.
Shares of Zen Technologies Limited closed at ₹1,720.50 on the BSE, registering a marginal decrease of ₹3.75, or 0.22%, for the day.
