Yuno and Onafriq Forge Pan-African Payment Alliance

Fintech innovators Yuno and Onafriq have announced a strategic partnership aimed at streamlining global merchants’ access to local payment networks across Africa. This collaboration integrates Onafriq’s extensive pan-African payment network with Yuno’s orchestration platform via a single API, significantly easing business expansion on the continent.

Key Details of the Partnership

  • Onafriq’s network spans 43 African markets.
  • It connects nearly 1 billion mobile wallets and 500 million bank accounts.
  • The network supports 2,000 cross-border payment corridors.
  • Services include mobile money disbursements and collections, card issuance, treasury services, and stablecoin settlement.
  • The service is already active in Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Uganda.

The primary goal is to mitigate complexities merchants typically encounter when engaging with numerous local providers, banks, and mobile money operators in African markets. Yuno users can now directly access Onafriq’s services from their dashboard, eliminating the need for additional contracts or separate integrations.

Executive Insights on African Growth

Juan Pablo Ortega, Co-Founder and CEO of Yuno, highlighted Africa as a significant growth opportunity. He emphasized that the partnership offers a reliable, compliant, and locally integrated solution for merchants aiming to expand.

Dare Okoudjou, CEO of Onafriq, echoed this sentiment. He stated the collaboration empowers global merchants to connect more seamlessly with African consumers and businesses, thereby enhancing access to the digital economy across the continent.
