UTI AMC Profit Jumps 24% to ₹294 Cr in Q1

UTI Asset Management Company (UTI AMC) reported a robust 24% increase in net profit, reaching ₹294 crore for the June quarter. This significant surge was primarily driven by effective cost management strategies.
Financial Highlights
- Net profit climbed 24% to ₹294 crore.
- Operating expenses decreased to ₹217 crore from ₹223 crore year-on-year.
- Total revenue rose 7% to ₹584 crore, up from ₹547 crore.
- Net profit from ‘Fair Value Changes’ improved to ₹187 crore from ₹153 crore.
Despite strong profit growth, UTI AMC’s total Assets Under Management (AUM) saw a decline. The company’s AUM stood at ₹20.56 lakh crore by June 2026, a reduction from ₹21.93 lakh crore in the prior year. Assets managed under Portfolio Management Services also decreased, falling to ₹12.15 lakh crore from ₹14.22 lakh crore.
SIP Segment Performance
- Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) inflows totaled ₹2,502 crore.
- Total AUM under SIPs grew 8% to ₹45,595 crore.
- Approximately 3.89 lakh new investor accounts were added during the quarter.
- 81% of new SIP registrations occurred through digital channels, indicating a strong digital push.
UTI AMC is strategically shifting towards more lucrative product offerings to enhance competitiveness. This includes focusing on passive investments, pension funds, and expanding its international business. The move aims to reduce reliance on traditional mutual fund schemes and counter lower-cost alternatives like Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) and index funds.
