Toxic Box Office: Rs 165 Cr Net in India Despite Collection Drop

Yash’s latest film, ‘Toxic’, has surged past the Rs 165 crore net mark in India by its third day of release. This substantial achievement comes despite a notable decline in daily collections following a robust opening weekend performance.

Initial Box Office Surge and Subsequent Dip

Industry tracker Sacnilk reported ‘Toxic’ debuted with a massive Rs 101.10 crore on Day 1. However, this strong initial start was quickly followed by a sharp downturn in earnings.

Day 2 collections plummeted to Rs 37.65 crore, reflecting a considerable 64% decline from its opening day figures. This significant drop indicates a rapid shift in viewer engagement after the initial rush.

Third Day Performance and Global Reach

The film continued its downward trend, securing Rs 26.60 crore on Day 3. The Raksha Bandhan holiday likely provided some cushion, preventing a steeper fall in these daily earnings.

By the end of Day 3, ‘Toxic’ accumulated a total India net collection of Rs 165.35 crore. The total India gross collection for the film reached Rs 197.70 crore.

Globally, the film added Rs 4.00 crore on Day 3 from overseas markets. This propelled its worldwide gross total to an impressive Rs 221.45 crore, showcasing its international reach.

Yash’s Unprecedented Box Office Record

This performance solidifies Yash’s standing as the first Indian actor to have two films open with over Rs 100 crore. His previous blockbuster, ‘KGF Chapter 2’, also achieved this exceptional feat, underscoring his consistent draw.

While ‘Toxic’ has proven commercially successful and marks Yash’s return after a four-year hiatus, it has garnered mixed responses and criticism from some viewers. The period action thriller features a diverse cast, including Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, Nayanthara, and Rukmini Vasanth.
