Torrent Power’s subsidiary, Torrent Green Energy, incorporates Torrent Urja 50 & 51, focusing on hydrogen production, renewable energy, and related green technologies.

Torrent Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Torrent Green Energy (TGEPL), officially incorporated two new companies: Torrent Urja 50 and Torrent Urja 51.

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) issued the Certificate of Incorporation for these new entities on August 19, 2026.

What the New Companies Will Do

These new subsidiaries are formed to carry out extensive business activities focused on hydrogen and various forms of green energy.

  • They will manufacture, process, produce, assemble, alter, purchase, refine, treat, reduce, distil, blend, and purify hydrogen.
  • This also covers its by-products and derivatives such as ammonia, chemicals, and compressed natural gas.
  • The companies plan to store, hold, transport, use, experiment with, supply, sell, import, export, and trade these substances.
  • Beyond hydrogen, they will engage in generation, transmission, distribution, purchase, and sale of power.
  • This includes all forms of nonconventional, renewable, green, and hydro power, plus other energy sources.
  • The subsidiaries will also procure, trade, import, export, and store electrical power and energy in all aspects.

Torrent Power operates as an integrated utility, meaning it is involved in power generation, transmission, and distribution.

The company currently manages its operations across the Indian states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
