Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” has reached a significant milestone in India, accumulating a total net collection of Rs 176.21 crore after 29 days in theaters. While the film continues its run, a noticeable slowdown in weekday collections has been observed.

The latest figures, according to Sacnilk data, show the film earning Rs 1.26 crore net on its 29th day in India. This pushed its gross India collection to Rs 209.57 crore, reflecting a consistent but decelerating performance in the domestic market.

India Box Office Trajectory

The film demonstrated robust initial performance, opening with Rs 17.40 crore on Day 1. Subsequent early collections included Rs 22 crore on Day 2 and Rs 21.90 crore on Day 3, culminating in a strong first week total of Rs 90.30 crore.

Weekly collections illustrate a typical decline post-opening fervor. Week 2 garnered Rs 44.95 crore, followed by Rs 23.50 crore in Week 3, and Rs 16.20 crore in Week 4. Weekday earnings during the fourth week consistently hovered between Rs 1.25 crore and Rs 1.50 crore.

Global Performance and Strategic Expansion

“The Odyssey” has achieved substantial global success, crossing the $1 billion mark worldwide. Its international earnings are approximately $649 million, complementing the $481 million generated in North America, for a total of around $1.156 billion.

Produced on a reported budget of $250 million, the film features a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, and Robert Pattinson. Its recent strategic release in mainland China on August 14, across more than 20,000 screens, is poised to further bolster its impressive global box office tally.

The film’s sustained global appeal, amplified by strategic market entries, underscores its commercial viability despite the expected domestic tapering after nearly a month in release.
