Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ achieves a monumental $1 billion global box office, marking a major success and nearing ₹200 crore in India.
Christopher Nolan’s latest film, “The Odyssey,” just hit a huge milestone. It crossed $1 billion in global box office collections.
- Global Box Office: $1 billion
- Domestic Collections: $430 million
- International Collections: $570 million
- India Collections: Over Rs 192 crore (nearing Rs 200 crore)
This makes “The Odyssey” the fifth film of 2026 and the 65th film ever to reach this mark. It’s also a big deal for Nolan, as it’s his first non-Batman movie to hit a billion since “The Dark Knight Rises” in 2012. Plus, it’s his first original (not a sequel) film to achieve this.
India’s Strong Showing
In India, the film is performing super well. By its 22nd day, “The Odyssey” had already collected over Rs 192 crore. It’s now close to hitting the Rs 200 crore milestone.
Universal Pictures produced this epic action-adventure. The story is based on Homer’s ancient Greek epic, following Odysseus’s journey. It features a star-studded cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, and Zendaya.
