Tata 1mg, the digital healthcare platform under the Tata Group, has announced that it has turned positive across all its core business verticals. This significant financial milestone underscores the effectiveness of its integrated healthcare strategy and positions the company for further growth, including an ambitious expansion of its retail presence.
Financial Milestones and Strategic Success
The company confirmed that all its core businesses achieved EBITDA positive status in December 2025 and successfully sustained this profitability through the fourth quarter of the fiscal year 2026. Tata 1mg attributed this notable accomplishment to its decade-long commitment to developing a comprehensive healthcare platform. This integrated approach spans multiple services including pharmacy, diagnostics, specialty care, consultations, and retail healthcare services.
Prashant Tandon, Co-founder and CEO of Tata 1mg, characterized the past year as an “inflection point” for the company. He noted that the substantial scale achieved by the platform is now directly translating into a superior customer experience and stronger unit economics across its operations. This development highlights the maturation of Tata 1mg’s business model.
Performance Across Key Business Units
The ePharmacy business, a crucial component of Tata 1mg’s offerings, has successfully reached breakeven while simultaneously continuing its expansion efforts. This segment now provides express medicine delivery services, ensuring rapid access to medications within 30 to 60 minutes across 10 major cities, enhancing convenience for its growing customer base.
Tata 1mg’s diagnostics business has also demonstrated robust performance, crossing an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of Rs 600 crore. This represents a significant year-on-year growth exceeding 40% and has maintained impressive double-digit EBITDA margins. The extensive diagnostics network comprises 19 NABL-accredited laboratories, serving customers efficiently in 70 cities across India.
The Specialty Pharma division experienced strong growth during FY26, reporting an increase of approximately 65%. This growth was primarily fueled by targeted initiatives such as patient support programmes, adult vaccination drives, advanced cancer care services, and comprehensive obesity management solutions, addressing critical healthcare needs.
Furthermore, the direct-to-consumer (DTC) health products portfolio has surpassed an ARR of ₹200 crore. This segment also continues to operate profitably, contributing positively to the company’s overall financial health and demonstrating the strong demand for its health and wellness offerings.
Expansion and Future Outlook
On the retail front, Tata 1mg has significantly expanded its physical footprint, establishing more than 280 stores across nine distinct clusters. The company has ambitious plans to further increase this network, aiming to exceed 500 outlets within the next 12 months, thereby extending its reach and accessibility to a broader population.
Concurrently, Tata 1mg is actively strengthening its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to enhance its service delivery and operational efficiency. It leverages advanced platforms such as Health Insights Hub and Pulse, which are currently utilized by over 75 pharmaceutical companies, underscoring their utility and impact within the industry.
Looking ahead, Tata 1mg has outlined its strategic focus areas. These include optimizing for faster pharmacy deliveries, expanding its diagnostics services, forging new partnerships in specialty care, and continuously developing AI-driven personalized healthcare experiences to further solidify its market position and improve patient outcomes.
