Sunny Deol’s ‘Batwara 1947’ is off to a strong start with over 7,000 tickets sold in advance bookings, generating significant buzz and revenue.
Sunny Deol’s latest film, ‘Batwara 1947,’ is already creating a stir among moviegoers, pulling in impressive advance bookings for its opening day. This period drama has seen strong ticket sales even before its release, signaling significant audience interest.
For its opening day, ‘Batwara 1947’ recorded gross bookings of Rs 24.37 lakh. This was achieved by selling 7,074 tickets across 2,554 shows in the Hindi 2D format. When block seats are included, the total booking value climbs to Rs 89.75 lakh.
Regional Box Office Buzz
Across India, several regions are contributing significantly to these early sales. Delhi emerged as the top collector, showcasing strong local demand.
Delhi led all regions with collections of Rs 6.81 lakh. Maharashtra followed with Rs 3.67 lakh, while Gujarat contributed Rs 3.05 lakh. Rajasthan added Rs 2.65 lakh, and Uttar Pradesh accounted for Rs 2.31 lakh in advance sales.
Beyond just sales figures, occupancy rates provide insight into audience engagement. Uttarakhand notably leads in this aspect, indicating high interest.
Uttarakhand saw the highest occupancy at 10%. Chhattisgarh was close behind at 9%, while Rajasthan registered 3%. Telangana and Uttar Pradesh each recorded 2% occupancy.
City-Specific Trends
Drilling down to major metropolitan areas reveals varied performance. The National Capital Region (NCR) showed the strongest circuit contribution.
The National Capital Region (NCR) was the top contributor with Rs 6.81 lakh in gross bookings. Mumbai collected Rs 2.59 lakh, Jaipur Rs 2.01 lakh, and Lucknow Rs 1.03 lakh. Hyderabad recorded Rs 34.22 thousand in advance sales.
Occupancy rates in these key centers reflect diverse local interest. Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Lucknow showed more modest figures.
Jaipur’s occupancy stood at 4%. Both Hyderabad and Lucknow registered 2% occupancy rates for their advance bookings.
