Held in Mumbai on August 7, 2026, the awards celebrated leaders mastering ‘The Power of Balance’ in complex business environments. It’s all about making smart choices when things are constantly changing.
Recognizing Industry Visionaries
The event also highlighted other big names shaping various industries, from pharmaceuticals to digital media. These leaders are truly making an impact on the products and content we consume daily.
- Dilip Shanghvi, founder of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., was honored as IAA Business Leader of the Year 2026 for making high-quality, affordable medicines accessible.
- Creative veteran Neeraj Roy of Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Ltd. joined the IAA Hall of Fame for his long-term contributions to digital and creative sectors.
- Other notable awards went to Rahul Kanwal (IAA Media Person of the Year), Babita Baruah (IAA Creative Agency Head of the Year), and Kartik Sharma (IAA Media Agency Head of the Year).
- Sam Balsara received the IAA ‘Force for Good’ Award for his selfless actions beyond the marketing and communications industry.
Nandini Dias, chairperson of the IAA Leadership Awards, explained that “contemporary leadership requires the wisdom to hold opposing truths and make decisive choices in a constantly shifting environment.” This really sums up the challenge leaders face today.

The winners were selected by an eminent jury, led by Prabha Narasimhan, Managing Director and CEO of Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited. Jishnu Dev Varma, Governor of Maharashtra and Chief Guest, highlighted the advertising industry’s role in shaping aspirations and economic growth.
He also stressed the critical importance of truthfulness, transparency, and ethics in advertising, especially as India works towards a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047. It’s a reminder that even in business, purpose truly matters.
