Sembcorp Green Infra (SGIL) has officially filed its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) with SEBI for an initial public offering (IPO) targeting ₹3,750 crore.

This move positions SGIL, supported by Sembcorp Industries and Singapore-based Temasek, for a significant market entry.

  • The IPO involves a fresh issue of shares only, valued at ₹3,750 crore.
  • SGIL manages a renewable energy portfolio of 7.64 GW, with 3.60 GW operational and 4.04 GW under construction.
  • The company is also developing 1.43 GWh of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) capacity.

Operations span 105 projects across 13 states and Union territories, leveraging wind, solar, hybrid, and storage technologies.

A consortium of bankers including Axis Capital, Citigroup Global, CLSA India, HSBC Securities, ICICI Securities, IIFL Capital, and Kotak Mahindra Capital are managing the IPO.

Renewable Energy Market Trend

SGIL’s filing aligns with a broader trend of renewable energy companies pursuing public listings, as seen with Avaada Electro’s recent Rs 7,600 crore IPO filing.
