RGNAU Vice Chancellor B N Singh confirmed the approval, noting that a dedicated center of excellence will emerge once the land is secured. A survey to identify the suitable area is presently underway.

Developing the Center of Excellence

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has provided assurances that the required land will be made available promptly. This expansion project is poised to significantly enhance the university’s capabilities.

  • The proposed expansion will feature state-of-the-art laboratories and advanced research centers.
  • It includes other critical infrastructure aimed at promoting higher education and innovation.
  • Focus areas encompass aviation, aerospace, and related fields.

RGNAU’s Vision and Growth

Established in 2013 under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, RGNAU holds a unique position as India’s sole institution solely dedicated to aviation and aerospace education. Its mandate is to lead in this specialized sector.

The university envisions a substantial increase in its student body and broader reach across the nation.

  • RGNAU aims to boost its student strength to 17,000 by the year 2033.
  • This marks a significant jump from its current enrollment of 595 students.
  • The institution is also working towards granting affiliation to other aviation and aerospace institutions nationwide.

This strategic move by the Centre underscores a commitment to bolstering India’s human capital and technological prowess in the critical aviation and aerospace sectors. The development aims to position RGNAU as a pivotal hub for future industry leaders and innovators.
