The company was founded by Dhruv Chadha and José Luis De La Peña, both former early employees of fintech giant Wise. Their goal is to streamline the often-complex process of tax management for self-employed individuals and landlords.

Simplifying Digital Tax Compliance
The inspiration for Record OS stemmed from the founders’ personal experiences with complicated tax returns. Chadha highlighted finding errors in his own professionally-prepared return, underscoring the need for a more reliable solution.
Peña added that Record OS aims to remove friction from self-assessments by combining technological speed with expert review. This approach is crucial as more taxpayers transition to digital systems, ensuring accuracy for individuals and landlords navigating complex tax requirements.
