RBI extends export credit to 450 days until June 2026, aiding exporters facing West Asia disruptions. Increased export proceeds timeframe to 15 months.
The Reserve Bank of India has extended the deadlines for export credit, providing relief to exporters facing logistical challenges. This extension allows exporters to obtain both pre- and post-shipment finance for a period of up to 450 days, applicable to disbursals made until June 30, 2026.
In addition to the extended credit window, the RBI has also increased the time frame for realizing export proceeds to 15 months. These measures are intended to support exporters in navigating the ongoing disruptions, particularly those stemming from the West Asia region.
The extension of these facilities aims to provide exporters with greater flexibility and support during a period of uncertainty in global trade. By allowing more time for both financing and the realization of export earnings, the Reserve Bank of India seeks to mitigate the impact of logistical challenges on the export sector.
