Rajeev Thakkar’s stake sale values PPFAS at ₹15,800 crore, reflecting significant growth and investor confidence in the asset management firm.

Rajeev Thakkar, Chief Investment Officer of PPFAS Mutual Fund, recently divested a 0.33% stake in its unlisted parent, Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services (PPFAS), to WhiteOak Capital’s Alternative Investment Fund. This transaction established a valuation for PPFAS at approximately ₹15,800 crore, marking a notable increase from previous assessments.

This latest deal builds upon an earlier transaction in July, where promoters Neil and Khushboo Parikh sold nearly 1% of PPFAS to Avendus Future Leaders Fund III. That prior sale, executed for ₹140 crore, had previously valued the company at ₹14,000 crore.

These successive stake sales offer a clear trajectory of PPFAS’s perceived market value, underscoring investor confidence in the privately held asset management company’s growth prospects.

Key Financial Metrics

  • PPFAS’s valuation is estimated to be around 9-10% of its assets under management.
  • Assets Under Management (AUM) stood at approximately ₹1.61 lakh crore as of June 30.
  • Revenue from operations increased to ₹596 crore in the fiscal year 2026, up from ₹423 crore in the previous year.
  • Net profit for the asset manager rose to ₹346 crore in FY26, compared to ₹246 crore during the prior period.

Based on the valuation from the WhiteOak deal, Thakkar’s remaining 6.21% stake in PPFAS, as recorded on March 31, could be valued at about ₹900 crore. This highlights the substantial personal wealth tied to the firm’s performance.

The consistent increase in valuation, driven by strategic stake sales and robust financial performance, provides crucial insights into the evolving market perception of PPFAS. These developments reflect a strong underlying business trajectory and investor appetite for the company’s future.
