Dutch e-commerce investor Prosus NV has injected $100 million into Navi, the Indian fintech startup founded by Sachin Bansal. This capital infusion represents Navi’s inaugural institutional funding round, valuing the company at approximately $1.3 billion ahead of its planned initial public offering.
Strategic Capital Infusion
The $100 million investment from Prosus NV establishes Navi’s current valuation at about $1.3 billion. The company is reportedly targeting a valuation of around $2 billion for its upcoming IPO. Navi’s assets under management currently stand at Rs 13,000 crore.
Under the leadership of Sachin Bansal, co-founder of Flipkart, Navi offers a comprehensive suite of financial products. Its portfolio includes loans, insurance, mutual funds, and UPI payments, where it operates India’s fourth-largest application.

Sachin Bansal highlighted the significance of this partnership, noting his long-standing relationship with Naspers and the Prosus Group. He described the investment as a strong endorsement of Navi’s vision to become a leading technology-driven financial services institution in India.
Investor Rationale
Ashutosh Sharma, head of India investments and mergers and acquisitions for Prosus, explained Navi’s appeal. He cited its large customer base, diversified business segments, and a technology-first approach focused on enhancing consumer experience. Sharma also noted Navi’s robust performance over the past year, despite prevailing macroeconomic challenges.
