By Business Desk
AI equity research platform Pinegap secures $8M Series A led by Stellaris Venture Partners to expand operations and enhance its AI agent technology for institutional investors.
Pinegap, the AI-driven equity research platform with headquarters in New York and a technology center in Bengaluru, has secured $8 million in Series A funding. Stellaris Venture Partners led the round, with existing investors Inventus, Silicon Valley Quad, and DeVC also participating.
The capital injection will facilitate the expansion of Pinegap’s go-to-market and sales activities. Funds are also earmarked for growing the engineering team and establishing an in-house team of former equity research analysts.
Automating Buy-Side Research
Founded in 2024 by Ankit Varmani and Deepak Sharma, Pinegap’s platform automates daily workflows for institutional buy-side analysts. It serves hedge funds, long-only mutual funds, and registered investment advisors (RIAs) in the United States.
Pinegap develops custom AI agents tailored to each fund’s investment style, private data, and output formats. The company has already deployed over 1,000 agents for more than 100 institutional clients, generating upwards of 50,000 research reports monthly.
CEO on Operational Integration
Deepak Sharma, Co-founder and CEO, stated that Pinegap integrates with a fund’s operations. This allows analysts to dedicate more time to critical judgment by automating repetitive research tasks.
The platform aims to provide essential AI infrastructure for institutional asset managers. This addresses increasing data volumes, compressed research cycles, and persistent pressure on returns.
