Fintech Cofounders Divest Shares Worth

665 Cr

PB Fintech co-founders Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal have collectively divested 3.8 million shares of the insurtech firm, amounting to

665.4 crore, through a series of block deals. These significant transactions, executed at a premium, signal the founders’ strategy to monetize a portion of their holdings amid an evolving market landscape. The move has drawn attention from institutional investors and the broader market.

According to data released by the (NSE), Yashish Dahiya, who serves as the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, offloaded 2.6 million shares. This sale was conducted at an average price of

1,751 per share, generating a total of

455.3 crore. Similarly, Alok Bansal, the vice chairman and whole-time director, sold 1.2 million shares at the identical price, realizing

210.1 crore from his portion of the block deals. The cumulative value underscores a substantial personal divestment.

Key Investors Acquire Stakes in Block Deals

The shares were transacted at

1,751 apiece, representing a 2.8% premium over PB Fintech’s last closing price on the (BSE). This premium suggests robust demand and confidence among institutional buyers for the company’s stock. A diverse group of prominent global and domestic financial institutions actively participated in acquiring these shares, indicating broad market interest.

Among the notable investors who acquired shares were leading financial entities such as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Societe Generale, Kotak Securities, Tata Mutual Fund, and BNP Paribas. Specific transactions included St. James’s Place purchasing shares worth

81.9 crore, while Viridian Asia Opportunities Master Fund invested

76 crore. Societe Generale further bolstered its position by acquiring shares valued at

57.5 crore, demonstrating significant institutional backing for the insurtech firm.

Context of Previous Stake Dilutions and Market Performance

These recent sales follow a pattern of stake dilution by the co-founders. As of March 2026, Dahiya held 18 million shares, constituting a 3.86% stake in PB Fintech. Bansal’s ownership stood at 5.38 million shares, representing a 1.2% stake in the company. The co-founders had previously sold PB Fintech shares worth

920 crore in June 2025, marking another significant divestment.

The recent block deals also come shortly after Chinese tech giant Tencent completely exited its 1.05% stake in PB Fintech earlier this month. Tencent’s sale, also executed via a block deal, generated

805.4 crore. This series of major share sales by significant stakeholders and founders provides important context for PB Fintech’s stock performance and investor sentiment.

The timing of these divestments aligns with a period of mixed performance for PB Fintech’s shares. While the stock has seen a commendable surge of over 15.5% on the BSE during the past three months, it has concurrently experienced a decline of more than 6% on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. The stock closed Friday’s trading session down 4.56% at

1,702.5 on the BSE, reflecting an immediate market reaction to the substantial share offloading.

PB Fintech Reports Strong Financial Growth

Despite the founder share sales, PB Fintech continues to report strong financial performance. The insurtech major posted a consolidated net profit of

261.2 crore in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026. This represents a robust 54% increase compared to the

169.7 crore recorded in the corresponding quarter of fiscal year 2025, indicating healthy underlying business operations.

The company’s operational revenue also demonstrated significant growth during the same period. Operating revenue climbed 37% to

2,061 crore in Q4 FY26, up from

1,508 crore in Q4 FY25. This consistent expansion in both profit and revenue underscores PB Fintech’s operational momentum and market penetration, providing a positive outlook for its core business activities.
