Parle: India’s Most Chosen FMCG Brand for 14 Years

By Business DeskParle: India’s Most Chosen FMCG Brand for 14 Years

Parle Products retains its title as India’s most chosen in-home FMCG brand for the 14th consecutive year, according to the latest Brand Footprint report.

Ever wondered which snacks and household essentials truly rule our shopping carts? For the 14th year running, Parle Products has cemented its spot as India’s most picked in-home FMCG brand, a constant in kitchens nationwide.

This consistent preference comes from the annual Brand Footprint India report by Worldpanel by Numerator, which tracks what we buy. While Parle holds the in-home crown, Britannia took the top spot for out-of-home purchases, showing our diverse brand loyalties.

How Brands Stay on Top

The report uses Consumer Reach Points (CRP) to measure a brand’s popularity. CRP considers both how many people buy a brand and how often they return for more.

Interestingly, highly penetrated brands generally saw their CRP grow. However, only 56% of smaller brands managed to achieve this, indicating a tough market for new or niche players.

Key Brand Shifts

  • Rin re-entered the top 25, showing an 11% CRP growth. This comeback was fueled by product modernization and a strategic focus on liquid products.
  • Campa also made a notable move, with its penetration jumping by a significant 2.7%.

The Challenge for Smaller Players

K. Ramakrishnan, Managing Director- South Asia, Worldpanel by Numerator, highlighted this market dynamic. He stated that “while large and mid-sized brands experienced strong CRP growth, smaller brands found it harder to translate visibility into reliable consumer choice.”

This suggests that while many brands catch our eye, converting that initial glance into a regular purchase remains the ultimate challenge in India’s competitive FMCG landscape.
