Oswal Pumps wins 20 MW rooftop solar order in Bihar under PM Surya Ghar scheme, valued at Rs 78 crore, boosting renewable energy in the region.

Oswal Pumps has secured a substantial Letter of Award from North Bihar Power Distribution Company (NBPDCL) for a 20 MW grid-connected rooftop solar capacity. This pivotal project, part of the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana, solidifies the company’s expanding presence within Bihar.

Project Financials and Scope

The installation order carries a value of around Rs 78 crore, underscoring the significant investment in renewable infrastructure. This substantial project will span across 18,089 consumer sites, with each individual site contributing 1.1 kW to the total capacity within the Darbhanga Circle.

Beyond the initial setup, the project anticipates a long-term revenue potential of approximately Rs 67 crore from energy supply. This revenue will be generated over a 10-year tenure under the RESCO model, leading to a cumulative revenue opportunity reaching around Rs 145 crore.

Each beneficiary household is projected to receive around 15,000 units of solar power throughout the contract period. This ensures tangible benefits for consumers while establishing a consistent revenue stream for Oswal Pumps.

This latest award reinforces Oswal Pumps’ strategic growth in the state, building upon previous order wins. The systematic approach to target individual consumer sites underscores a clear strategy to penetrate regional markets under national electrification schemes.

Oswal Pumps manufactures solar-powered and grid-connected submersible and monoblock pumps, alongside electric motors and solar modules. These products, marketed under the ‘Oswal’ brand, align directly with the requirements of such large-scale solar deployment projects.

The dual revenue stream, combining installation value with long-term energy supply potential, positions Oswal Pumps for continued stability and growth within India’s burgeoning renewable energy sector. This order reflects a clear strategic alignment with national energy transition goals.
