Key Highlights

Discover how Omaxe State in Dwarka is revolutionizing startup incubation by transforming infrastructure into a real-world testing and scaling platform.

The Omaxe State: A New Paradigm for Startup Incubation

In a significant departure from traditional development models, The Omaxe State, a sprawling 50.4-acre project in Dwarka, Delhi, is poised to redefine the landscape for startup growth. Developed through a public-private partnership between Omaxe and the Delhi Development Authority, this ambitious project aims to leverage its extensive infrastructure as a direct platform for burgeoning businesses. The core innovation lies in its design, which intentionally integrates spaces for founders to test, showcase, and scale their products, capitalizing on the high-frequency consumer footfall generated by the development itself.

Integrated Infrastructure for Diverse Sectors

The Omaxe State is meticulously structured into five distinct districts, creating a synergistic ecosystem. The Sports District is anchored by Delhi’s first new major stadium in over 140 years, a 30,000-seat international cricket and football venue built to ICC and FIFA standards. Complementing this are a 2,000-seat indoor multi-sport stadium, an Olympic-size swimming pool, and 75,000 sq ft dedicated to e-sports infrastructure. The Shopping District features India’s first air-conditioned high street, a 4.2-kilometre stretch designed for large-format experiential retail, alongside a 5-screen multiplex. The Food District, spanning 500,000 sq ft, is positioned as India’s largest, housing over 40 restaurants, lounges, and nightclubs. The Hospitality District includes an exclusive leisure club and three state-of-the-art gymnasiums, while the Social District provides a one-lakh capacity events arena for concerts and cultural gatherings.

Strategic Location and Infrastructure Support

The strategic positioning of The Omaxe State amplifies its potential. It is situated adjacent to Yashobhoomi, Asia’s largest convention center, which has already seen over Rs 25,700 crore in government investment. Furthermore, Bharat Vandana Park, a 200-acre eco-park, is under development across the road, and Indira Gandhi International Airport is a mere 20 minutes away. Dwarka itself boasts a captive population of 30 lakh residents, with a significant 38% falling within the 15 to 34 age bracket. The Delhi Development Authority and the government have committed over Rs 50,000 crore to infrastructure development across the precinct, underscoring the project’s status as a structural bet on Delhi’s emerging commercial and entertainment hub.

Addressing the Infrastructure Gap for Sports Tech

India’s sports tech market is projected to reach Rs 49,500 crore by FY29, with an annual growth rate of 13%. The country hosts over 2,000 sports tech ventures, ranging from fantasy sports platforms and analytics tools to performance wearables and e-sports infrastructure. While funding is increasingly available, with initiatives like Centre Court Capital’s Rs 3.5 billion fund for sports and gaming startups, a critical gap exists: the lack of adequate physical infrastructure to support these businesses. Startups require live stadiums with substantial regular attendance for cricket analytics firms, elite facilities for sports wearable companies to use as distribution and demonstration points, and integrated destinations where sports, shopping, and dining converge for smart-venue product developers. The Omaxe State directly addresses this market challenge by providing a cohesive, high-standard environment.

Omaxe’s Integrated Startup Ecosystem

Omaxe’s leadership has proactively established a proptech startup fund, collaborating with IDFC Bank as a knowledge partner to incubate and co-fund early-stage companies. This model is now being extended to sports tech and healthtech, inviting founders whose products can be tested, showcased, and scaled within The Omaxe State’s facilities. On match days, the campus is expected to attract 30,000 to 40,000 visitors, creating an organic distribution channel unparalleled by any advertising budget. The 75,000 sq ft indoor sports zone is designed as a permanent showcase floor for sports product companies, offering performance wearables brands and cricket analytics startups direct access to a live, captive audience. Metashot, a cricket simulation and analytics startup, is already being integrated, with plans for a dedicated showcase space within the indoor sports zone.

The Future of Physical Proof Points for Startups

As India’s consumer startup market matures beyond its initial online-centric phase, the next wave of founders is recognizing the necessity of physical proof points for credible scaling. The experience economy favors companies that secure offline distribution channels early. Mohit Goel, Managing Director of Omaxe Limited, stated, “India’s founders have mastered the digital world, but the next frontier of growth requires physical proof points. Startups today spend years and millions of rupees trying to manufacture the kind of organic, high-energy environment we are building natively in Dwarka. The Omaxe State isn’t just about bridging a 140-year gap in Delhi’s sports infrastructure; it’s about providing a unified, world-class launchpad where sports tech and consumer brands can bypass fragmented distribution and grow alongside their actual users.” Startups that align with The Omaxe State’s foundational development will gain authenticity, embedded presence, and organic brand association, assets that are difficult to acquire later.
