State-owned NTPC is advancing plans to develop two nuclear power units, each with a capacity of 700 MW, in the Banka district of Bihar. The project is estimated to require an investment of Rs 25,000 crore.

Currently, NTPC officials are engaged in conducting a feasibility study to assess the viability of the proposed nuclear power plant. The Bihar government has pledged its full support to facilitate the project’s progress.

This initiative aligns with India’s broader objective of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047. NTPC aims to contribute significantly to this goal, targeting a nuclear capacity of 2 GW by 2032.
