Nippon India Mutual Fund has achieved a significant industry first, becoming the initial asset management company in India to exceed 40 million folios. This milestone, recorded as of June, firmly establishes its leadership in the burgeoning mutual fund sector.

The fund house now accounts for a substantial portion of the market’s activity.
As of June, Nippon India MF held 40.2 million folios.
This represents 14.4% of the total 278.6 million folios across the industry.
Nippon India also commands the largest unique investor base, with 24.1 million individuals.
This unique investor count makes up 39% of the industry’s total 61.9 million unique investors.
Sundeep Sikka, MD and CEO of Nippon Life India Asset Management, acknowledged the trust of 40 million investors. He highlighted the company’s role in facilitating wealth creation for retail investors and channeling household savings into India’s capital markets.

While Nippon India leads, other major players also hold considerable market positions.
ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund recorded 31.8 million folios.
HDFC Mutual Fund followed with 31.1 million folios.
SBI Mutual Fund reported 22.4 million folios.
UTI Mutual Fund reached 14.2 million folios.
Collectively, the top 10 Asset Management Companies manage 199.4 million folios, capturing 71.6% of the total industry share. The remaining fund houses contribute 79.2 million folios, or 28.4%.
