The New India Assurance Company has formally declared its intent to divest 1,05,00,000 equity shares in the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. (NSE). This transaction will be executed via an Offer for Sale (OFS) mechanism as part of the exchange’s upcoming initial public offering.

The insurer is offloading a significant portion of its investment in the exchange. This specific divestment accounts for approximately 29.83% of the total shareholding held by the public sector entity.

The divestment process is currently pending final regulatory approvals. Should these clearances proceed as anticipated, the transaction will conclude by the end of September 2026.
