eGenesis’s Mission
eGenesis, Inc. focuses on a genome engineering-based approach to develop safe, transplantable organs. Their core aim is to address the global shortage of organs and revolutionize organ failure treatment.
The company’s proprietary eGenesis Genome Engineering and Production (EGEN) Platform uses advanced genetic engineering. This technology tackles cross-species molecular incompatibilities and viral risks comprehensively.
Transplant Milestones
eGenesis currently has development programs underway for kidney, acute liver failure, and heart transplants. Significant progress was marked in March 2024 with the world’s first porcine kidney transplant in a living patient.
This groundbreaking procedure received authorization from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) under the Expanded Access pathway. Two additional porcine kidney transplants have since followed, all reporting exceptionally positive outcomes.
