National Aluminium Company (NALCO) reports a remarkable 90.87% YoY surge in Q1 net profit to ₹2,003.14 crore, driven by operational efficiency and favorable market conditions. Revenue up 39.28%.

National Aluminium Company Ltd (NALCO) saw its net profit surge by 90.87% year-on-year for the first quarter ending June 30, 2026. The state-run ‘Navratna’ company reported a net profit of ₹2,003.14 crore, nearly doubling from ₹1,049.48 crore in the prior fiscal year’s same quarter.

Revenue from operations also posted a robust increase, climbing 39.28% year-on-year to ₹5,302.38 crore. This figure represents a sequential growth of 5.78% from the previous quarter, indicating sustained positive momentum. Total expenses for the period reached ₹2,786.78 crore, up from ₹2,501.18 crore year-on-year.

Operational Metrics Surge

  • Operating performance, measured by Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA), jumped 81.45% year-on-year to ₹2,707.50 crore.
  • EBITDA also showed a sequential rise of 15.24% for the quarter.
  • NALCO achieved its highest-ever first-quarter bauxite excavation at 19.52 lakh tonnes.
  • Calcined alumina production hit a record 5.77 lakh tonnes for the quarter.
  • Alumina and hydrate sales reached an all-time high of 3.47 lakh tonnes in Q1.

The company attributed its strong first-quarter showing to several key factors. These included enhanced operational efficiency, strategic financial management, and favorable global aluminium prices. Higher production and sales volumes, alongside increased domestic alumina sales and a positive domestic business environment, further bolstered performance.

Dividend and Future Outlook

NALCO’s board of directors recommended a final dividend of Re 1 per equity share for the financial year 2025-26. This translates to 20% of the face value of ₹5 per share, with a total payout amounting to ₹183.66 crore, subject to shareholder approval.

Looking ahead, NALCO intends to prioritize completing its ongoing expansion projects and increasing existing capacities. The company will also focus on enhancing operational efficiency, optimizing resource utilization, and strengthening its research and development initiatives. The Centre maintains a significant 51.28% stake in the ‘Navratna’ firm.
