Molbio Diagnostics operates as an innovative point-of-care (POC) diagnostics company. Its focus is on expanding access to accurate, rapid, and cost-effective healthcare technologies for both infectious and non-communicable diseases.

About Molbio’s Truenat Platform

The company developed the ‘Truenat’ platform, a novel POC polymerase chain reaction (PCR) system. This platform is battery-operated, allowing for decentralized diagnosis within an hour, even in resource-limited settings.

  • Patented in over 100 countries for diagnosing multiple diseases.
  • Offers molecular testing for 30 diseases, including tuberculosis (TB), COVID, Hepatitis B and C, Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and Human Papillomavirus (HPV).
  • Features 43 assays for these diagnostics.

Molbio Diagnostics operates within an oligopolistic market characterized by high entry barriers. Its platform underwent 13 years of Research and Development to secure Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) certification.

Notably, its ‘Truenat’ test chip for diagnosing TB is the sole offering by an Indian company and one of only two rapid molecular tests globally endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) for initial TB diagnosis and rifampicin resistance detection using molecular diagnostic technology.

The issue’s book running lead managers include Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, IIFL Capital Services, Jefferies India, and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors. Darshan Raghunath Karekar serves as the compliance officer for the offering.
