Molbio Diagnostics secured Rs 281.5 crore from anchor investors, finalizing its pre-IPO funding. The point-of-care diagnostics company allotted 34.88 lakh equity shares at Rs 807 each to 33 investors.
Key Anchor Investor Details
Major participants included Goldman Sachs, BlackRock Global Funds, and Mirae Asset. Domestic mutual funds secured 23.54 lakh shares, representing 67.51% of the anchor book. This allocation went to 19 schemes across nine fund houses.
Public Issue Overview
The public subscription window for Molbio’s IPO opens from August 10 to August 12. Shares are priced between Rs 768 and Rs 807 per share, which is the upper limit of the price band. Molbio aims to raise between Rs 904 crore and Rs 940 crore through this public issue.
Strategic Fund Allocation
The IPO includes a fresh issue up to Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale of up to 91.66 lakh equity shares. Molbio will use Rs 106 crore from the fresh issue for a new R&D facility and Centre of Excellence. An additional Rs 72 crore is earmarked for plant and machinery at its Goa and Visakhapatnam manufacturing units, with the remaining capital for general corporate purposes.
Diagnostic Platform and Operations
Established in 2000, Goa-based Molbio Diagnostics specializes in molecular testing for 30 diseases, including tuberculosis, COVID, and HIV. Its patented ‘Truenat’ platform is a point-of-care PCR system offering decentralized diagnosis in about one hour. The battery-operated system is suitable for resource-limited environments.
Molbio operates six manufacturing facilities across India, located in Goa, Bengaluru, Visakhapatnam, and Pune. As of March 31, 2026, the company’s installed capacity stood at 5,400 devices and 3.9 crore Truenat test kits annually.
Financial Performance and Listing
For fiscal year 2026, Molbio Diagnostics reported Rs 1,445 crore in revenue from operations. Profit for the same period reached Rs 164 crore. Shares are slated for listing on the BSE and NSE on August 17.
