Molbio Diagnostics Ltd. has secured ₹281.5 crore from anchor investors, a move preceding its Initial Public Offering (IPO). The point-of-care diagnostics company allocated 34.88 lakh equity shares to 33 anchor investors at a price of ₹807 per share, hitting the upper limit of its IPO price band.

Anchor Investor Breakdown

  • 33 anchor investors participated.
  • Key investors included Goldman Sachs, BlackRock Global Funds, and Mirae Asset.
  • Domestic mutual funds accounted for 23.54 lakh shares, representing 67.51% of the anchor book.
  • These funds came from 19 schemes across nine fund houses.

The IPO is scheduled to open for public subscription from August 10 to August 12. Its price band is set between ₹768 and ₹807 per share, targeting a total raise between ₹904 crore and ₹940 crore.

IPO Structure & Fund Utilization

  • ₹200 crore fresh issue of shares.
  • Up to 91.66 lakh equity shares offered via Offer for Sale (OFS) by existing shareholders.
  • ₹106 crore from fresh issue for R&D facility, Centre of Excellence, and office space.
  • ₹72 crore allocated for plant, machinery, and equipment in Goa and Visakhapatnam manufacturing units.
  • Remaining funds for general corporate purposes.

Molbio Diagnostics, established in 2000, specializes in molecular testing for 30 diseases, including tuberculosis, COVID, and HIV. Its ‘Truenat’ platform is patented in over 100 countries, offering decentralized diagnosis within an hour.

Company Financials & Capacity

  • Reported revenue from operations of ₹1,445 crore in fiscal year 2026.
  • Achieved a profit of ₹164 crore in fiscal year 2026.
  • Post-issue market valuation estimated at approximately ₹9,300 crore.
  • Installed capacity as of March 31, 2026: 5,400 devices and 3.9 crore Truenat test kits annually.

The company operates six manufacturing facilities across India. Shares are slated for listing on the BSE and NSE on August 17. Kotak Mahindra Capital Company, IIFL Capital Services, Jefferies India, and Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors are managing the issue.
