Manipal Health Enterprises’ Initial Public Offering (IPO) saw a 15% subscription rate on its first day of bidding, Wednesday, for its ₹9,275-crore offering.
The company received bids for 1,30,94,050 shares against the 9,00,88,286 shares available, indicating moderate initial investor interest.
First Day Subscription Breakdown
Retail investors subscribed 25% of their allocated portion, showing the highest engagement among categories.
Qualified Institutional Buyers (QIBs) recorded a 14% subscription rate on the first day.
Non-institutional investors showed a 7% subscription, indicating lower initial participation.
Manipal Health Enterprises successfully secured ₹4,167 crore from anchor investors prior to the public offering, a key pre-IPO funding round.
Notable anchor investors included Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and Allianz Global Investors Fund, signaling institutional confidence.
The IPO’s price band is set between ₹560 and ₹590 per share, establishing the valuation range for investors.
This pricing values the company at slightly over ₹77,600 crore at the upper end of its price range, according to company disclosures.
The three-day subscription window for the IPO is scheduled to close on July 31, allowing further bidding.
IPO Structure and Funding Use
The IPO comprises a fresh issue of equity shares amounting to ₹8,000 crore, intended for new capital infusion.
An Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of up to 2.16 crore equity shares by existing shareholders is also part of the offering, facilitating partial exits.
Key promoters, including Imperius Healthcare Investments Pte Ltd and Manipal Education and Medical Group India Pvt Ltd, are divesting parts of their stakes.
A significant ₹5,378 crore from the fresh issue proceeds is earmarked for repaying or prepaying borrowings of its subsidiary, Manipal Hospitals Pvt Ltd.
Another ₹574 crore will be utilized to acquire a minority stake in its step-down subsidiary, Sahyadri Hospitals Pvt Ltd, expanding its portfolio.
Any remaining funds are designated for general corporate purposes, providing operational flexibility.

Bengaluru-based Manipal Health operates a comprehensive network of multispecialty hospitals across India, offering diverse healthcare services.
The company’s shares are expected to list on both the BSE and NSE on August 5, marking its public market debut.
