M2P Fintech, a Chennai-based fintech startup, has announced the appointment of Vivek Seshadri, previously the chief financial officer (CFO) at Hitachi Payments, as its new Group CFO.

In his new role, Seshadri will be responsible for overseeing M2P’s financial operations, investor relations, capital strategy, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He will collaborate with the leadership team to enhance operating leverage, strengthen financial systems, and support M2P’s expansion into key global markets.

Prior to joining M2P Fintech, Seshadri served as CFO at Hitachi Payment Services for two years. His professional background includes positions at investment firms such as Avendus Capital, JP Morgan, and U GRO Capital, giving him a total of approximately 15 years of experience.

Founded in 2014 by Madhusudanan R, Muthukumar A, and Prabhu Rangarajan, M2P Fintech offers fintech solutions in payments, banking, and lending to banks, NBFCs, and online businesses. The startup was last valued at over ₹6,550 Cr ($783 Mn) during its ₹850 Cr ($101 Mn) Series D financing in 2024.

M2P Fintech reported a loss of ₹133.5 Cr in FY24, a slight increase of 0.15% from ₹133.3 Cr in the previous fiscal year. However, the startup’s operating revenue decreased by 13.3% to ₹382 Cr in the reviewed year, from ₹440.7 Cr in FY23. The company has yet to disclose its FY25 and FY26 financial results.

This appointment occurs amidst a series of leadership changes within the broader startup ecosystem, as companies aim to improve financial performance, increase their focus on AI, and pursue potential IPOs.

In April, Cashfree Payments appointed former Visa finance head Sameer Gandhi as its new CFO, EV manufacturer Zelio E-Mobility welcomed former Navi UPI business head Divyanshu Agarwal as its CEO, and healthtech startup Practo named Srijesh Kumar as its global chief product and technology officer (CPTO).
