LEAP India: Major Funds Acquire Over 5% Stake Post-Debut

Leading funds like Smallcap World Fund and Prudential Assurance have acquired over 5% equity in LEAP India through open market transactions following its recent market debut.
Four prominent funds—Aagam Investments, Smallcap World Fund, Habrok India Master, and Prudential Assurance Company—collectively acquired over 5 percent equity in LEAP India through open market transactions on August 14.
LEAP India Attracts Major Investment
The supply chain and asset-pooling solutions provider, LEAP India, recently debuted on the bourses on Friday. The stock experienced an 8.74 percent decline on its listing day, closing at Rs 145.1.
- US-based Capital Group-owned Smallcap World Fund Inc acquired an additional 88.56 lakh shares, representing over 2 percent of paid-up equity, for Rs 142.77 crore at Rs 161.22 per share. The fund previously held a 2.52 percent stake in KKR-backed LEAP India.
- The Prudential Assurance Company purchased 55.5 lakh shares (1.25 percent stake) for Rs 85.56 crore at Rs 154.16 per share.
- Habrok India Master LP picked up 47 lakh shares (1.06 percent stake) for Rs 77.67 crore at Rs 165.26 per share.
- Aagam Investments secured 30.6 lakh shares (0.69 percent stake) for Rs 48.12 crore at Rs 157.27 per share.
- GDN Investments also acquired 20 lakh shares in LEAP India at a price of Rs 165.9 per share, valued at Rs 33.18 crore.
Concurrent Bulk Deal Activities
Meanwhile, HDFC Mutual Fund executed a separate bulk deal, purchasing an additional 5.8 lakh shares in Indigo Paints. This acquisition, representing 1.2 percent of paid-up equity, was valued at Rs 68.16 crore at a price of Rs 1,173.26 per share.
- HDFC AMC, through HDFC Small Cap Fund, already held a 6.44 percent stake in Indigo Paints as of June 2026.
- Indigo Paints shares reacted positively, rising 1.62 percent to close at Rs 1,148.7 on the NSE, potentially influenced by the HDFC AMC stake acquisition.
Action also unfolded in Menon Bearings on Friday, where shares declined 2.15 percent to Rs 229.68. Promoters Sucheta Nitin Menon, Aditya Nitin Menon, and Anshul Nitin Menon offloaded a combined 9.96 lakh shares, representing a 1.77 percent stake in the auto components maker.
- The promoter sale was conducted for Rs 23.92 crore at a price of Rs 240 per share.
- Persistence Capital Fund I emerged as a buyer, acquiring 8.75 lakh shares (1.56 percent stake) for Rs 21 crore at the same price of Rs 240 per share.
Open market transactions on Friday saw significant movement across multiple scrips, highlighting active institutional participation in various companies.
