KPSC Halts Vet Officer Recruitment Over Scam Allegations

Karnataka KPSC suspends recruitment for 400 veterinary officer posts due to serious rigging and irregularity allegations. Investigations are underway.
The Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) has officially suspended the recruitment process for 400 veterinary officer positions. This includes 342 regular posts and 58 backlog vacancies, following severe allegations of irregularities and manipulation.
Allegations of Rigging and Evidence
Candidates involved in the recruitment process have accused external agents of compromising the selection procedure. They provided substantial evidence supporting claims of middlemen manipulating outcomes.
This evidence includes audio recordings, photographs, and video materials. These materials were submitted as part of a formal complaint.
The allegations led to an FIR being filed at the Vidhana Soudha Police Station on July 25, 2026. Protests have also erupted from candidates demanding a transparent investigation into the examinations held on January 8 and 9, 2026.
Official Response and Investigations Underway
In response to the mounting pressure, the KPSC has established a sub-committee comprising senior members. This committee is tasked with conducting a thorough internal probe into the matter.
The sub-committee will meticulously review all recruitment documentation related to the veterinary officer posts. Its findings are expected to be submitted within a week.
Meanwhile, a police investigation initiated by the FIR continues in parallel. The dual probes aim to uncover the full extent of the alleged malpractices.
Political Scrutiny and Credibility Concerns
Political figures have also weighed in on the controversy, raising concerns about the KPSC’s integrity. Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra expressed doubts regarding the commission’s credibility.
Vijayendra specifically highlighted allegations of monetary compensation being exchanged for higher marks in the selection process. He also questioned the perceived delay in police action regarding the serious accusations.

The recruitment for these essential veterinary roles now remains in a state of limbo. All stakeholders are awaiting the conclusive outcomes from both the internal KPSC committee and the ongoing police investigations.
