Actor Vijay’s film ‘Jana Nayagan’ demonstrated robust box office performance during its second weekend, particularly on Sunday, Day 11, pushing its total worldwide gross collection closer to the ₹300 crore mark.
The movie garnered an estimated ₹10.70 crore net from 4,321 shows across India on its eleventh day, marking a significant 37% increase compared to Saturday’s collections. This surge brought the film’s total India net collection to ₹175.60 crore and its India gross to ₹204.92 crore, according to Sacnilk estimates.
Global and Language Contributions
Internationally, ‘Jana Nayagan’ added approximately ₹3 crore, elevating its overseas gross to ₹91 crore and its overall worldwide gross collection to ₹295.92 crore. The Tamil version remained the primary driver, contributing ₹9.75 crore with an occupancy rate of 62%.
The Hindi version generated ₹0.85 crore, while the Telugu version earned ₹0.10 crore on Day 11. Occupancy rates consistently improved from morning to evening shows before a typical decline during night screenings.
Domestic State Performance
A state-wise breakdown of Day 11 gross collections revealed ‘Jana Nayagan’ earned a total of ₹12.40 crore domestically. Tamil Nadu contributed the largest share, accounting for ₹10 crore of this total.
Other significant contributions came from the Rest of India at ₹1 crore, Karnataka with ₹0.75 crore, Kerala at ₹0.50 crore, and Andhra Pradesh & Telangana adding ₹0.15 crore to the Day 11 gross.
Collection Trajectory
‘Jana Nayagan’ opened with a substantial ₹42.70 crore on Day 1, followed by ₹21.15 crore on Day 2, and then ₹28.90 crore and ₹32 crore over its opening weekend. The film concluded its first week with an impressive ₹153.55 crore in India net collections.
The second week began with ₹4.05 crore on Day 8 and ₹3.55 crore on Day 9. It then experienced a notable jump to ₹7.80 crore on Day 10, culminating in the ₹10.70 crore collected on Day 11, reinforcing its strong second-weekend performance.

Directed by H. Vinoth, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is an action drama reportedly produced on a budget of ₹500 crore. The film holds particular significance as it marks Vijay’s final cinematic project before his full-time entry into politics.
