Thalapathy Vijay’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ crosses ₹185.32 crore net in India by Day 16, solidifying its position as a major box office success.
Thalapathy Vijay’s Tamil action drama, “Jana Nayagan,” has recorded a significant milestone, surpassing ₹185 crore in net India collections by its 16th day. The film added an estimated ₹17 lakh to its domestic tally on Day 16, according to trade tracker Sacnilk.
This performance positions “Jana Nayagan” as one of the highest-grossing Tamil releases of the year. The film’s total India gross collection currently stands at ₹216.07 crore, demonstrating its sustained draw in cinemas.
Collection Trajectory
The film’s initial week proved exceptionally strong, garnering ₹153.55 crore. Its second week contributed an additional ₹31.60 crore, bringing the total India net collection to ₹185.32 crore over 16 days.
“Jana Nayagan” opened robustly with ₹42.70 crore on Day 1, maintaining consistent collections throughout its first two weeks. Daily figures from Day 9 through Day 15 show a continued audience presence despite a post-opening decline.
Collections included ₹3.55 crore on Day 9, followed by ₹7.80 crore on Day 10 and ₹10.70 crore on Day 11. Subsequent days saw ₹3.85 crore on Day 12, ₹2.10 crore on Day 13, ₹2 crore on Day 14, and ₹1.60 crore on Day 15.
Language-Wise Contribution
On Day 16, the Tamil version of “Jana Nayagan” contributed ₹15 lakh from 607 shows, registering 14% occupancy. The Hindi version added ₹2 lakh from 346 shows, with a 7% occupancy rate.
Featuring Vijay in the lead role, alongside an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Priyamani, “Jana Nayagan” continues to attract audiences during its third weekend, particularly in specific locations.
