Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has officially launched the first direct Vande Bharat Express train service between Jammu and Srinagar. This new 20-coach train aims to significantly reduce travel time between the two prominent capitals of the Jammu and Kashmir region, with services scheduled to begin on May 2.
The introduction of this modern train service is expected to provide a substantial boost to tourism in the Union Territory. This development follows the earlier inauguration of an initial Vande Bharat service between Katra and Srinagar by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2025.
