IRCTC Q1 Profit Flat Despite 18.1% Revenue Surge

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) announced a consolidated net profit of ₹330.16 crore for the June quarter, holding largely flat compared to the previous year. Revenue from operations, however, saw a significant 18.1% year-on-year increase, climbing to ₹1,369.53 crore.
The marginal profit decline was noted from ₹330.71 crore reported in the same quarter last year, though it marked a 1.2% sequential rise from ₹326.40 crore in the March quarter. Despite strong annual revenue growth, the company experienced a sequential decline of 6.2% from ₹1,460 crore in the March quarter.

- Rail Neer Revenue: Remained nearly flat year-on-year at ₹113.91 crore, but saw a 13.8% sequential increase.
- Internet Ticketing Revenue: Marginally increased 0.6% year-on-year to ₹361 crore, despite a 7.5% sequential decline.
- Tourism Revenue: Rose 13.8% year-on-year to ₹168.07 crore, but experienced a sharp sequential decline.
At the operating level, IRCTC’s EBITDA for the June quarter stood at approximately ₹386 crore. This figure was lower than the ₹394 crore recorded during the year-ago period.
The EBITDA margin for the quarter was approximately 28.18%. This indicates a contraction in operational profitability compared to approximately 34% reported in Q1 FY26.
